At Equal Beginnings, our in-home CLS supports individuals in developing the skills they need to live independently—and to truly make their space feel like home. We assist with daily routines such as meal planning, cleaning, safety awareness, budgeting, and personal care, while also encouraging personal choice in home décor, organization, routines, and more.
We empower each person to shape their environment, express their identity, and take ownership of their living space—because a house becomes a home when it reflects the person living in it.
Equal Beginnings offers personalized 1:1 services through Community Living Supports (CLS) and Companion Care—designed to meet individuals where they are and help them grow from there. Whether in the home or out in the community, our dedicated staff provide direct support tailored to each person’s goals, preferences, and pace.
We focus on building real relationships, fostering independence, and supporting everyday experiences—from attending appointments and enjoying hobbies to navigating daily routines and community outings.
With 1:1 care, individuals are truly seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.
Our CSS program at Equal Beginnings provides small-group support (ranging from 1:1 to 1:6 ratios) that encourages social interaction, skill development, and community engagement. Whether it’s exploring local events, participating in enrichment activities, or practicing daily living skills, CSS is about connection and growth in a safe, supportive setting.
We tailor each day to the interests and goals of the individuals we serve—empowering them to build friendships, gain confidence, and take an active role in their community.
Because learning together builds stronger, more meaningful lives.
Home-based CLS at Equal Beginnings is designed to support individuals in developing the practical life skills needed to live with greater independence—right in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.
Services may include:
Cooking and meal preparation
Household cleaning and organization
Laundry and personal hygiene routines

Beyond task-based support, our staff encourage participants to make choices about their home—how it’s decorated, how routines are structured, and how their space feels. We empower individuals to take pride in where they live and to view their home as a reflection of who they are.
This is more than skill-building—it’s about ownership, confidence, and creating a space that feels truly theirs.
At Equal Beginnings, we understand that life is unpredictable—and when challenges arise, responsive support matters most. Our Crisis and Emergency Care Coordination (ECC) services are designed to provide immediate, stabilizing support during times of behavioral, medical, or environmental crisis.
We work closely with participants, families, and teams to ensure safety, assess needs, and coordinate the right level of care in the moment. Whether it’s after-hours support, transition planning, or temporary increased staffing, our goal is to restore stability with dignity and compassion.
In crisis, you’re not alone. We’re here—with solutions, support, and care that doesn’t stop when things get hard.

President/CEO
Equal Beginnings was born out of something deeply personal. As a mother raising a child with disabilities—and watching him continue to grow as a participant in our services—I saw firsthand the obstacles families face. I knew our community needed more than just services. We needed hope. We needed change.
I founded Equal Beginnings with a mission to make support not only accessible, but meaningful. We don’t just provide care—we work to transform lives, celebrate individuality, and shift what disability services can and should look like. My passion is, and always will be, to make a real difference—for families like mine, and for every person we are honored to serve.

With a Master’s in Special Education and a lifelong commitment to inclusion, my journey in disability services has always been driven by heart and action. As a former collegiate Hall of Fame swimmer at USD, I learned the power of perseverance—and I see that same strength in the individuals we serve every day.
I’m especially passionate about the Special Olympics and programs that promote confidence, connection, and achievement. At Equal Beginnings, I bring that passion into our work by championing inclusive, empowering experiences for all. Every person deserves the opportunity to thrive—and we’re here to help make that happen.

CFO/COO
As someone born and raised between the wide-open spaces of Wyoming and Montana, I carry with me the values of resilience, honesty, and community. My passion for advocacy became deeply personal when my daughter suffered a traumatic brain injury at age 15 in 2022. Since then, I’ve been committed to ensuring that every individual and family navigating disability services feels seen, supported, and heard.
At Equal Beginnings, I strive to bring both professional excellence and heartfelt intention to everything we do—from compliance and operations to the everyday experiences of our participants. This work is more than a job to me—it’s a calling to advocate, protect, and uplift.
